Ejects Blue Ray

Post by blue-raven »

Hello,

I purchased the BDR-XS07UHD drive and when I insert a blue ray disc makemkv tried to read it and then ejects it. Tried another blue ray and the same thing happens. However, it is able to read and open regular DVDs. Firmware is not patched according to mkv output. The blue rays are not 4k. Any ideas?

Thanks

Does it act any different if you don't have makemkv open when you put the disc in?

It was just sit in the drive. If I try to read it via file explorer it will just eject it again and say insert disk. Do I need to flash the pioneer? Send the drive back and choose a different flavor?

By "just sits", do you mean it SPINS UP but does nothing, or simply sits there with no spin-up?

It should at least spin up for the operating system to read the contents.

i haven never seen this on a pioneer that it still sees a dvd but not a bluray the only think that might help besides cleaning the discs is to plug it in to a higher power usb port.
if it still don't work then if its new probably exchange/return it but then you may not get one back with the old firmware if your current one has the correct one. i would still recommend pioneer over lg/asus

Only time I've seen my XS-07UHD eject discs is when they're dirty (even dirty new out of the box). Always have been able to resolve it by cleaning the discs.
Probably currently watching Baby Driver on bluray, because all the streaming versions suck.

Didn’t seem to help when “cleaning it”.

I've had this same problem with the same drive you mentioned going on and off for about a month. I'm not sure what the cause is. Sometimes unplugging and replugging the drive helps. Sometimes cleaning off the disc helps. But nothing has worked consistently for me. It's just try it over and over until it works, or I get frustrated. maybe somehow dust got on a sensor inside the drive?
