Hi, I've got an external Asus drive that is actually a Pionner drive. It reads BD, but not UHD with MakeMKV 1.17.5 ('no disc inserted'), so... I'm doing something wrong or it is not a UHD drive. Any ideas?

Drive Information
OS device name: K:
Manufacturer: ASUS
Product: SBW-06D5H-U
Revision: E101
Serial number: XXXXXXXX
Firmware date: 2018-08-22
Bus encryption flags: 1B
Highest AACS version: 77

LibreDrive Information
Status: Enabled
Drive platform: RS8511
Firmware name: PIONEER BDR-US03
Firmware type: Original (unpatched)
Firmware version: E101/ID26
DVD all regions: Yes
BD raw data read: Yes
BD raw metadata read: Yes
Unrestricted read speed: Yes

No disc inserted
That's not a UHD drive
Not sure if it can be converted it might be able to convert It if its a rebranded ud03

I grabbed a Pioneer BDR-XS07UHD from Adorama per the previous two posts. Crossing my fingers for a 3/3 success rate since it was the last one in stock! :D

Sorry to bother you again. I'm new to this. Is there any way to do that?

I bought a Pioneer BDR-XS07UHD from Amazon a few days ago. Got here today and it had the 1.02 firmware on it which worked out of the box with libredrive/makemkv.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FGVPTHW?ps ... ct_details

The vendor that sold it to me on amazon was Adorama.

Very nice drive, and worked 100 percent out of the box with 0 issues. I don't know if all of them will have the 1.02 firmware, but mine did so figured I'd share this here.

Drive Information
OS device name: E:
Current profile: BD-ROM
Manufacturer: PIONEER
Product: BD-RW BDR-XS07U
Revision: 1.02
Serial number: CBDL011396UC
Firmware date: 2022-10-24
Bus encryption flags: 13
Highest AACS version: 63

LibreDrive Information
Status: Enabled
Drive platform: RS8E21
Firmware name: PIONEER BDR-BDS7
Firmware type: Original (unpatched)
Firmware version: 1.02/ID05
DVD all regions: Yes
BD raw data read: Yes
BD raw metadata read: Yes
Unrestricted read speed: Yes
Thank you, good sir! I followed your lead, and I got my BD-RW BDR-XS07U with Firmware 1.02 (via Amazon c/o Adorama) in the mail today. Seeing LibreDrive enabled out of the box brought a tear to me eye - LOL! Love it. Have a great day!

I ordered one of the last BDR-XS07UHD drives from Adorama, hopefully it comes on 1.02. Should be arriving in the next few days... Would be nice to have another drive other than my BU40N and my BP50NB40...

Nope. The firmware is December 2022 or newer. That can't be added yet. Still waiting on a solution.
Cheers :D

Yup drive from Adorama was 1.02, while the packaging said feburary 2023, Dang happy about that!

Code: Select all

Drive Information
OS device name: G:
Manufacturer: PIONEER
Product: BD-RW BDR-XS07U
Revision: 1.02
Serial number: ************
Firmware date: 2022-10-24
Bus encryption flags: 13

LibreDrive Information
Status: Enabled
Drive platform: RS8E21
Firmware name: PIONEER BDR-BDS7
Firmware type: Original (unpatched)
Firmware version: 1.02/ID05
DVD all regions: Yes
BD raw data read: Yes
BD raw metadata read: Yes
Unrestricted read speed: Yes

No disc inserted
Just as a side note, This thing blows the bu40n and bp50nb40 out of the water on reading finicky discs, been trying to read a dvd on multiple drives and it always got stuck at the same point. The Pioneer just blew through it like it was nothing. I hope that the firmware issue gets sorted eventually cause I want to get a second one asap.

Is the Pioneer BDR-XD07TS supported? I see a BDR-XD07 in the list, is it the same model?

For Billycar11:
That's not a UHD drive
Not sure if it can be converted it might be able to convert It if its a rebranded ud03
I've just opened the case and yes, it's a Pioneer BDR-UD03ASW. Is there any chance to make it UHDfriendly? I've flashed a LG drive yesterday and now I can rip UHD but I would know for sure if I can convert this Pioneer too so I've a backup unit.

If the fw is from before 12/22 email me your makemkv drive info section and I will make a flasher for you see below for contact info.

Thank you. So without flashing your firmware, the drive will not be supported "out of the box"?
