insert disc, spins for a few seconds then ejects...

Drive Information
Manufacturer: MATSHITA
Product: BD-MLT UJ230AS
Revision: 1.11

tried it on mac osx newest version and windows xp

is this a sign of a bad disc or is this like the copy protection on some audio cds that just will not load on computer drives at all?

this kinda sucks if it is copy protection as i don't have a stand alone blu ray player, i use the drive in the computer to play onto the tv

Hi!

What is the title and region of the original, commercial Blu-ray disc?

Hi!

There's certainly no newer or "special" protection on "King Kong" (2005) - one of the first Blu-ray and HD-DVD discs released.

Carefully examine the disc for physical damage and/or dirt, fingerprints, etc. Try cleaning the disc and cold booting your system...
