Hello all,
Noob here. can someone point me in the direction to patched UHD enabling firmware for my drive:

Drive Information
OS device name: F:
Current profile: BD-ROM
Manufacturer: PIONEER
Product: BD-RW BDR-S12U
Revision: 1.00
Serial number: SGDL000006WL
Firmware date: 2019-01-10
Bus encryption flags: 1B
Highest AACS version: 19

LibreDrive Information
Status: Enabled
Drive platform: RS8F01
Firmware name: PIONEER BDR-212T
Firmware type: Original (unpatched)
Firmware version: 1.00/ID43
DVD all regions: Yes
BD raw data read: Yes
BD raw metadata read: Yes
Unrestricted read speed: Yes
What model is it? If it is a S12UHT then it already is UHD enabled.
Cheers :D

I'd like to transition my LibreDrive status from Possible, not yet enabled to Enabled.

Running MakeMKV v1.17.4 on macOS Ventury 13.5.2:

Code: Select all

Drive Information
Current profile: BD-ROM
Manufacturer: PIONEER
Product: BD-RW BDR-XS07U
Revision: 1.03
Firmware date: 2023-01-06
Bus encryption flags: 13
Highest AACS version: 655

LibreDrive Information

Status: Possible, not yet enabled

Drive platform: Pioneer RS8E21

Firmware version: ID05
My goal here, really, is just to remove the 2x speed limit for archiving my discs, and achieve the drive's 6x max speed as advertised. If LibreDrive isn't what I'm looking for to achieve that, I'd appreciate any advice or links.

Out of luck since your firmware is newer than Dec. 2012. Wait patiently for a fix by Mike.

You need to download the Pioneer Tool from their website to change options.

More crap to prevent LibreDrive from working. Leave it alone.

Hi,

I have the same drive and situation as Asian wolf. I just got my drive from Amazon yesterday and I can read blu-rays just fine but not UHD.

MakeMKV is connected to the internet and I have been using it also for many years with DVD/Blu-rays no problem.

Replying so I can see any updates. Thanks in advanced for the support.
Same here .... waiting on solution for 1.03

Imagine that I had the player working and with the right FW, and (not knowing it, my fault) I updated it...

Would it be possible to put a warning into MakeMKV itself telling people not to upgrade firmware on Pioneer drives?
Probably currently watching Baby Driver on bluray, because all the streaming versions suck.

I also stupidly upgraded my firmware on my BDR-XS07TUHD today to version 1.03 and I can no longer rip my UHD's. I went and bought a brand new one and it came with the dreaded 1.03 firmware, which I tried to return and got told to bad so sad the drive works.

Is this being worked on\can this be fixed or do I need to buy a different UHD drive?

Thanks :)

Yep, i believe this is actively being worked on. Either an update to MKV for 1.03 or a way to safely downgrade software.
