well as you have shown in your FAST X comp, regardless of FEL, there is a difference between your BD player and internal tv player(tv being brighter , cooler).
So those comparison looks as expected IMO because the P8 file has wrong metadata for the BL brightness, which makes it much darker than it should. This is the reason why the brightness ''almost'' looks like FEL playback on the x800m2.
If you try the test file that has properly generated P8 metadata (resolve), then like FASTX, it should look brighter using your TV internal player.
But it does look like your TV internal app(looks warm) DV has a different temperature settings than your HDMI input (looks cool)
Picture settings are the same for HDMI and video apps.
So how do you advise me to act?
If the movie is fel but the fel does not extend the brightness, is it better for me to convert to p8 since the TV is brighter and more colourful?
Instead, when I have a FEL that extends the brightness (by the way, how do I understand it?) should I reproduce it with x800m2?
So
Sony Bravia for:
- P7 FEL convered to P8 if it does not extend brightness
- P7 Mel
- P8
- P5
X800m2 for:
- P7 FEL extending brightness
EDIT:
P8 (wrong) Sony Bravia A8H
P8 (optimal) Sony Bravia A8h
I don't know what to say... the image given by the wrong P8 seems even brighter and more enjoyable to me.
Enough.. I don't give up on understanding more
