Sound delay with DD

Post by DaxInside »

Im hoping someone can help me here.

When I rip a Bluray with a DTS HD audio track the resulting audio in the MKV shows as 'Lossless', and works fine. Ive been told in another thread this lossless track is the DTS HD file but labelled differently for some reason.

But when I try the same with a DD TruHD rip the audio is simply labelled '5.1'. When I play the MKV it plays fine but if I skip into the movie then there is a period of around 20 seconds where there is no sound at all, when it does kick in its fine and in time.

What could be causing this? Im using 1.6.10, windows7 64, creative x-fi SB connected to my onkyo 608 AV receiver. VLC is my media player. It makes no difference if I set my sound card to output DD live or DTS connect.

please reply if you can help.

Hi!

Please clarify - Are you talking about two rips of the SAME commercial Blu-ray disc, or rips of two DIFFERENT commercial Blu-ray discs?

What are the titles and regions of the discs involved?

I often have delays when switching audio tracks.

Especially with HD audio tracks.

HI guys

I meant 2 different films from 2 different blurays.

I dont mean when I switch audio tracks, i just mean when I skip forward a few mins on the same audio track & film I don't have sound for a short while.

seems odd that DD TruHD is labelled as 5.1 only. But then again it seems odd DTS HD is simply called 'lossless' too.

It's a known problem with 1.6.10 - should be fixed very soon.

ok cool, thanks.

Is it just that the label is wrong or is the problem with the audio track?

Just wondering if I should hold off on ripping any more discs for now.
