I’m deeply confused why you’d come to a forum for MakeMKV to try to find an alternative to that product?
Also, the trial keeps getting renewed, you just need to enter the new key…
free alternative to MakeMKV?
Re: free alternative to MakeMKV?
A lot of people avoid registering MakeMKV by using the beta key, which is issued every couple of months. There might be times when it's expired and a new one hasn't been issued yet, but isn't that worth saving that for the "twice" you're going to use it?
After all, you should have already used up your supposed "twice" you're going to use it, so there shouldn't be a need to replace it.

Re: free alternative to MakeMKV?
Makemkv is the cheapest and most consumer friendly ripping software around that supports UHD discs.
Most others have gone to subscription based payments.
Makemkv is still a 1 time payment.
Not only that it's the first with many drive features and firmware and all that is released for free.
I would encourage you to buy makemkv when you can buy it .the developer does make this program free as long as you use the latest beta so it would be wrong for not to share this with you.

With a minimal trickery you can perpetually use DVDFab in Windows.
The only thing I wish makemkv had was a hook script that is called before every file ripped but, nothing has that and there's workarounds.
