I purchased a Pioneer BDR-XS07UHD slim slot portable USB 3.1 Gen1(3.0). Is there anything in particular I should know about it's capability to rip UHD or any idea if this particular model is on the older or newer firmware?

I reached out to the seller and haven't received a response. Figured I would get your take since this seems like the place to ask.

I would recommend you buy one of those pioneers from me I have the ones with the correct fw just got 50 in yesterday flashing and testing them now

I appreciate the offer but I already spent the money on this one. Manufacture date is March 2022. If firmware is able to be tinkered with I might just pick up 50 myself

Is there any tutorial posted on flashing this particular drive? Say from 1.02 to an older fw?

Correct. If the drive is March 2022 then it most probably has pre 12/2022 firmware and should work out of the box.
