Hello everyone,
I just got a new Verbatim 43888 / BDR-UD04 drive, which seems to be supported for reading 4k BlueRay discs. See specs below.
No matter what USB port/cable I try, the drive just tries to spinup the disc, makes some clicking/spinning/reading noise and after about 30s it ejects the disc. I tried on my Mac Studio, MacBook Air M2 and my PC/Win11 13th gen i7. Only once I was able to read a BD and started ripping the disc. Is that a power problem or is the drive broken?
Thanks for your help!

Sounds like a power issue try with a high powered USB hub like this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0797 ... R7PE&psc=1GreaseMonkey wrote: ↑Thu Jul 06, 2023 1:59 pmHello everyone,

Either what Billy recommends or using a USB type C cable and USB C port which might deliver more power. If you only have USB A on your computers either return the drive or get that hub. However, think about the return time window if the hub also doesn't fix the issue.

I tried all available USB-C and USB-A ports on my computers and 5 different cables, but no success. Sent it back today and ordered a replacement.
