New Install - SDF and HK Not Downloading - Any suggestions?

Hi all, just upgraded my machine and trying my first rip and I'm getting the following messages. Any idea why this could be? Thanks.

Downloading latest SDF to Library/MakeMKV ...
Automatic SDF downloading is disabled or failed.
Using LibreDrive mode (v06.3 id=4C194CE2C4D1)
Using direct disc access mode
Loaded content hash table, will verify integrity of M2TS files.

Same. I just posted in another thread. Someone mentioned the file lives here: https://www.makemkv.com/svq/sdf.bin

As you can see that page gives a CloudFlare error. Looks like makemkv.com is having issues serving content to the CDN.

Having the same issue. I noticed makemkv.com appears to be having issues. I keep getting various cloudflare and other error messages on both the web site and the forum.

I am having this issue as well. First time it has happened in a long time. Since the makemkv site still appears to be having issues, I am hoping that it is just temporary and will fix itself when the site comes back to full utility.

Same problem, i.e., same message as OP. I tried from Germany, UK and USA, with VPN. I also tried without VPN. I see nothing on my PC that would block this traffic.

Sometimes I visit the site I see 17.3 for download, and then I try again and see 17.4.

I submitted the dump anyway, but it appears something interferes with the connection.

I agree; we have to be patient.

Long time lurker, first time poster - heh, perfect timing, I just finally bought a UHD BD-RE drive for my new computer, and now it seems like MakeMKV's host is having a big hiccup!

So it looks like http://makemkv.com/ (no https) is resolving, but it's cached somehow? Because it's serving the 1.17.3 version of the software, instead of 1.17.4 that we know is the current version - according to the link going to http://makemkv.com/download/Setup_MakeMKV_v1.17.3.exe at least.

As mike said in this thread, the site www.makemkv.com is down now, but you can alternatively use https://www.makemkv.info/ for now. It seems the SDF file can be downloaded simply replace the domain, i.e. from: https://www.makemkv.info/svq/sdf.bin now.

You can simply download the SDF file from address above and manually put it in where it should be as the log shown. Hope it works for you.

Internet access is enabled. Permissions are OK, since the tgz files are being created.

Mike says everything is back up, but clearly there is a remaining issue someplace.

Here is an additional wrinkle to the puzzle.
The blu-ray John Wick Chapter 4 decodes perfectly.

What am I doing wrong that keeps 4K media ONLY from being read by makemkv, when the exact same disc can be read by a different (is DVDFab 12 UHD ripper) just fine?

I'm getting the following error in Debug. Automatic HK downloading is disabled or failed.

I've tried manual load of SDF bin file to C:/Users/ninja/Videos/ folder. I open program and file is deleted. Not sure if this is normal or not. Also I've tried this on two machines with same results.

Any thoughts?

There were some server issues last week that you might've been running into. Or maybe your firewall is blocking IPs based on geography. Or your DNS is being extra unhelpful.

Got it. I turned norton VPN on and it updated. Thanks for suggestions.
