Figures. Mine is the normal 2 disc version from Amazon US. Regular BR ripped fine so I can always watch that if my patience gets the better of me.

My Amazon 4K disc won't rip yet and sent dump. Tried to just do a backup so I don't need the disc when database is updated but I keep getting errors on 2 different drives. Other discs are fine. Seems to be a bad disc and initiated a return/exchange. Anyone else get a bad disc?

My replacement disc arrived from Amazon (standard 2 disc version) and was able to back up this time without errors. Still can't rip yet. Sent dump for this disc just in case but assuming it's the same as the first.

My rip attempt on the 4k disc gets about 25-30 min into the process and then hits a roadblock and wont continue or complete. Yesterday error was different than todays attempt, yesterday error was "illegal request" at about 25 min into process, today error below:

Error 'Scsi error - HARDWARE ERROR:TIMEOUT ON LOGICAL UNIT' occurred while reading '/BDMV/STREAM/00278.m2ts' at offset '35121917952'
Error 'Internal error - Operation result is incorrect (78)' occurred while reading '\Device\CdRom0' at offset '35121917952'
Error 'OS error - {Device Timeout} The specified I/O operation on hs was not completed before the time-out period expired' occurred while reading '\Device\CdRom0' at offset '35121917952'

Either a problem with the drive or the disc. My money is on the disc. Check to see if it needs cleaning and failing that, get a replacement. I’ve had to do this with a handful of discs, most recently Aquaman.

ok will do,t\ tried cleaning disc a handful of times so probably time to try another copy, bummer to double dip but worth a try. thanks

As my post above notes my first disc from Amazon gave errors and halted pre-maturely when backing up. Tried cleaning and a second drive. Replacement disc worked fine. Still can't decrypt yet but I'm sure database will update soon. I have had a couple bad discs over the years.

My Amazon 2 disc set for the 4K doesn't rip, haven't tried the HD yet but suspect the same volume key issue. I can rip them by other means so I positively know the disc's are not bad and that it is an AACS decryption issue.

Nope, just gotta play the waiting game. I submitted the Best Buy dump file a couple days ago as well.
