LG BP50NB40 Read Speed

Post by memberberry »

Hi All,

I'm new to the forum and to flashing in general but I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong here. I've already been able to rip 6 seasons of a box set without issues but I feel like the read speed I'm getting is too slow. I followed the flashing guide and flashed in this order:

BP50NB40 to > BP50NB40-NB50-1.03MK then to > BP60NB10 1.02MK

Max read speed I get is anywhere between 2x and 3.5x - is this normal/expected? I'm wondering if I'm missing anything or if this is just normal behavior. I have the drive connected to two USB 3.0 ports.

Thanks!

Max is 6X
I'd the drive is slowing down it's either dirty discs or not enough power

Read speed depends on a lot of things. A dirty disk will read slower than a clean disk, and "clean" means no haze on the disk. Read speed also depends on whether the part of the disk being read is "dense" or not - a disk "speeds up" as it gets further into the read.
