Playing Dolby Vision MKVs on LG TV

I used makemkv 1.17.3 to rip "No Time to Die" and "Shin Ultraman", both with Dolby Vision video streams/tracks. From what I've read, I should be able to play the MKVs on my LG C9 TV via the USB port. However, the files are not recognized by the TV, although MKVs without Dolby Vision are.

a) Anyone know what I need to do differently?
b) How are other people with LG TVs playing Dolby Vision MKVs (besides using NVIDIA Shield)?

The LG internal player doesn't detect Dolby Vision in MKV files.
Most people use an external player.

You can always try to install Kodi on webOS too, but it's not very stable.
