Buffalo Blu-ray BRXL-PT6U2VB-AP question

Does anyone know if the (BUFFALO MediaStation Portable Blu-ray Drive/External BRXL-PT6U2VB-AP) can read/rip 4K discs?
It says on the front product box UltraHD 4K & 3D. But when I was reading amazon reviews, 2 people have said 4K cannot be read,
The device cannot play purchased UHD 4K movies, only self-created BDXL, does anyone who has this Blu-ray portable drive know if this is true?
If not, can it be flash to read/rip 4K discs?

if its the BU40N inside it can after being flashed there is a new version of it out though so be careful.
i have 3 of those on clearance because the case usually dies after 2 years drive inside is usually fine though.

No way to know until you get it if you buy mine it's guaranteed to be a BU40N
