My wife recently purchased the latest season of the PBS series Sanditon and when I tried to rip it via MakeMKV, I get the following message:
This disc uses newer verison of AACS protection. Please let us know about it by visiting http://www.makemkv.com/a/...
It allows me to continue to rip the episodes, but when I try to play them back the audio is missing. Only the video plays back.
I've ensured that my blu-ray writer (ASUS BW-16D1HT) has the latest firmware revision (v 3.10). This is the first blu-ray (or 4K UHD for that matter) were I can't get it to rip correctly.
Is there anything I can do to address this or will I have to wait for an update from the MakeMKV developers to address this going forward?
Any assistance here is greatly appreciated.
Sanditon Season 3: AACS - v78 = no audio
Re: Sanditon Season 3: AACS - v78 = no audio
The program MediaInfo will tell you a lot of details about the contents of your media files. It'll tell you if there's an audio track in your .mkv files or not. It is possible the fault is in the playback setup, not in the ripping.
It looks like Sanditon (2019) uses DTS for the audio format. Out of the box, Windows Media Player generally can't play DTS audio. VLC should be able to play DTS however.

Thanks for the response dcoke22.
I did download MediaInfo and it does show audio. So, it looks like Windowsw Media Player and Xbox won't play the audio (for some reason). But our Roku did, so she has an option to watch them now.
Thanks again.
