Dragonball GT merged segment maps

Post by PatrickStar »

Hello there,

Today, I was trying to digitize Dragonball GT for my brother, but I ran into an issue that I don't fully understand. According to the cardboard box, this is the German release of Dragonball GT by Kaze. It is a flipbook with four DVD's - i am not really informed when it comes to anime.

Now, onto my issue. The discs do not seem to have a singular segment map for each episode. For example, here is the "Track => Segment map"-Map of the first Disc:

Code: Select all

A1 => 1-4,5-7,8-10,11-13,14-16,17-20
A2 => 1-4,5-7,8-10,11-13,14-18
A3 => 1-4,5-7,8-10,11-15
A4 => 1-4,5-7,8-12
A5 => 1-4,5-9
A6 => 1-6
B1 => 1-4,5-7,8-10,11-13,14-16,17-19
As you can see, the episodes are stacked up into the final file, where there are two versions, one ending with 19 and one with 20. So far, I have only ever seen segment maps with specific segments. Does the "-" character imply that this is a range? I am asking this because A1 and B1 are the same length, but A1 has one more segment in case my assumption is true.

Did anyone here successfully extract from those discs already? Can you please give me a hint on what i got here and what to do about it so that i end up with singular episode files?

I am looking forward to your input!

Best Regards
Patrick

Edit: I just found out how i can split the episode files myself! You can split them the following way yourself too:
1) Open mkv-toolnix and go to the Multiplexer
2) Drag your file and navigate to "Output" in the menu band
3) Under "Splitting" select "Before chapters" in the Dropdown
4) For Dragonball GT you can use 2,5,8,11,14(,17) as the input for "Chapter numbers" - check with VLC how many Chapters the merged file has, some have 5 splits and some 6.
Greetings from Germany! I am sorry for my english in advance :D
