Re: The Maltese Falcon: 4K UHD
Just tried the US disc and it is now working
Re: The Maltese Falcon: 4K UHD
Still not working for me.
I think there is a difference between the European release (which I have) and the US version.

Re: The Maltese Falcon: 4K UHD
I received my copy of the U.S. version of The Maltese Falcon yesterday, but am having the same issue with the volume key. Are these volume keys unique to each member? I’ve only had the issue two or three times. By the way, I sent the dump file to the wrong address yesterday but to the correct address today. Thanks.
Re: The Maltese Falcon: 4K UHD
The volume keys are unique to a group of disks. Usually, that means they'll be the same across disks produced for a given country, but sometimes not.
Matching disks will come up with the same "hex digits" at the end of the file name, as in all of them created with "_ABCD" in the name will be the same, but "AEF3" will be different. That's why it's best if people post the name of the file being sent to svq@makemkv.com in their post here.

Re: The Maltese Falcon: 4K UHD
Thanks for your quick reply.
I just read the following post: viewtopic.php?f=12&t=24711
For your information, I received the first message, but not the second message, which is the reason I asked my question about volume keys. However, I do not understand what you mean by the "file name." I know the name of the film, but don't know where to look for the file name when I can't rip the disk and save the file. Are you referring to the name of the dump file? Thanks.

Re: The Maltese Falcon: 4K UHD
Yes, the name of the dump file. As in the example from that message:
Seeing the second message is not usual... but it happens sometimes. It's when your system isn't getting the updates. A lot of people disable that for security reasons- automatic downloads are an issue for a lot of people. Trusting your antivirus programs is important.
The "_ABCD" is a checksum, calculated based on the file contents, so it changes when the encryption key changes. If you see where someone else has submitted the same checksum file as you have, there's less need to submit YOUR copy, but it doesn't HURT.Saved AACS dump file as C:\Users\xxxxxxxxx/.MakeMKV/New_UHD_Title_ABCD.tgz
The volume key is unknown for this disc - video can't be decrypted
Failed to open disc

Here's the missing link.
file:///Users/xxxxxxxx/Library/MakeMKV/MKB20_v77_The_Maltese_Falcon_B8FE.tgz
file:///Users/xxxxxxxx/Library/MakeMKV/MKB20_v77_The_Maltese_Falcon_B8FE.tgz
Re: The Maltese Falcon: 4K UHD
When I tried to rip the disk again today, I received the following familiar answer:
Saved AACS dump file as /Users/xxxxxxxx/Library/MakeMKV/MKB20_v77_The_Maltese_Falcon_B8FE.tgz
The volume key is unknown for this disc - video can't be decrypted
DEBUG: Code 0 at w)Z`79F^=U%?OtE`:121264372
DEBUG: Code 0 at w)Z`79F^=U%?OtE`:213131341
Failed to open disc
Usually, the volume-key problem is resolved within a couple of days. I am curious to learn why the problem still persists. Thanks.
