Just downloaded makemkv to try out.
I am wanting to make all my hddvds into mkvs & store on hdd.
I have tried 2 different movies & they create a mkv file but wont play with MPC-HC.
Am I doing something wrong? I pick the large evo file & check the language I want.
Help with HD-DVD to mkv
Re: Help with HD-DVD to mkv
You can't just hope Plug&Play.
MPC is GREAT but he use FFDShow and Haali as external output for make MKV being read properly.
MKV also have a plugin to be able to read .mkv format... but it's old school.
If you just downloaded lastest MPC, this could explain why you can't play any MKV.
I recommend you to download CCCP.

This contains MPC, FFDShow, Haali and more...
This will fix your issue.

Re: Help with HD-DVD to mkv
Don't pick the large EVO file, the film might be spread across numerous EVOs. When you open MakeMKV you need to use the "Open disc" button (it's the symbol showing a DVD on the left and an arrow to a hard drive) and let the programme determine what it's going to save. The Janitor wrote:Am I doing something wrong? Are you aware about the Pulldown issue using MakeMKV on HDDVDs? Do a search on this forum for it.
