ASUS BW-16D1HT Not reading at times

#1 Post by BobbyDigital » Sat Feb 04, 2023 4:28 pm

Hello, I purchased this drive from a guy on this site may be a few years ago. Not sure if this is a drive issue or PC issue. But my pc doesn't recognize this drive at times(usb). I can insert a UHD disc and it won't read. How do I fix this issue?

Having a similar issue. Shows "no disc inserted" when i insert a bluray or UHD Bluray. when i put in a DVD it works.

Have used this drive successfully for ~3 years. Seems like a software issue.

The blue laser is dead. DVDs use the red laser.

Tried it again and it's working again -- would it make sense to have intermittent issues with the blue laser like this?

Yep, possibly. Could of had some dirt on it or something too! Either way, probably a good idea to get another drive.
Cheers :D
