Hi all,
I am planning on getting a UHD drive from the other thread, but for now I have a "Zilynhom Portable CD/DVD ROM Writer Reader" that internally has a "hp DVDRAM GU90N USB" drive in it. It purports to be a 8x reader, but in MakeMKV it never gets above 2.2x. Is there something I can do to speed it up? My PC is a high-end desktop, so it's not CPU bound.\
Thanks for any help or guides. I am pretty new to MakeMKV.

Re: AM Gu90N
I have disks that never get above 2x, while others go over 16x near the end. I even have an LG drive that decides to kick into the limit-the-noise speed on certain disks, and top out at 2.2x (normally going up to 10x on other disks.
What you get is usually disk-related, although some drives have built-in limits for certain disks. A DVDRAM drive is likely to have a speed limit programmed in to it, but there MAY be a utility to kick that limit away.
