Any update from Sony to fix dolby vision issue on the x700/x800?
No, as far as I know. I own both x700 and x800m2

I doubt this will ever be fixed and the different L1/L2 responses doesnt seem to affect actual content. Also, I don't think it's related to CMV2.9 vs CMV4.0 devices.

Here's my observations so far...
X800m2/x700:
L1 low contrast and L2 offset 0.75 doesnt work
no issue with "multi" pattern

Shield:
L2 offset 0.75 doesnt work
color issues (bug still there, checked recently)
issues with "multi" pattern (blue banding and clipping conversion issues)

C2 internal player:

all the L1/L2 metadata works
issues with "multi" pattern ( clipping conversion issues)
Movies with source max_pq 3696 (MDL 4000nits) look a lot darker than the x800/x700/shield: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sl_wopsmdmc

C8 internal player:
all the L1/L2 metadata works
No issue with "multi" pattern

FireTV cube latest gen and probably firestick max:
all the L1/L2 metadata works
issues with "multi" pattern (tracking issue)
overall darker image

Chromecast GTV (cmv2.9 device):
L1 optimal doesnt work
L2 looks quite different in LLDV than in tv-led
the first test showed that it produced a brighter image but I still have more tests to do.
https://slow.pics/c/pEEQBJJD
no issue with "multi" pattern but if you FF/RW, the pattern start flickering.

I know @quietvoid found out that the "multi" pattern "may" have luma issues but I'm not sure about that because I checked the other versions of the pattern and they all behave exactly the same.
So unless Stacey Spears did the same mistake for all the patterns, I believe this is just how the pattern is supposed to work and it truly exposes issues on devices (shield and C2)
They also all show 10 000 nits but it's only because of a couple of pixels in the middle of the frame. The pattern are really 600/1000/4000 or 10 000 nits so I redid all the versions without trim passes and with proper source_max pq and maxcll/fall. Someone looked at that pattern recently: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JzbXYgZ4vSY
I don't remember the conclusion but maybe there's new relevant info.

Also if it's of any interest, I recently made a L11 whitepoint test: https://mega.nz/file/cUcCxIIQ#rlWlhxVeZ ... CbdsNWhUQY
The image should change whitepoint from warm to cool, if the playback chain supports CM v4.0.
It only works on my FTV stick 4K Max, not the C2 internal player.

no effect on the shield and C2. Too bad the firestick doesnt track ST2084 well because it's the only device that does all the metadata correctly.
This pattern is great to expose the shield red push though, clearly visible on the white waves

first time using the script

Downloaded 1.7.0 and started the process to convert my mkv file to something that my Sony 800m2 will play. I selected 4,2 and it's been doing its thing.

Besides not knowing why I selected 2, how long does it take to finish? Movie is 1917 and the process is well over an hour. Windows 10 computer and temp folder is in an external drive

Thanks

anybody can help with python for dovi_scripts???? i'm stucked on "models" module... can't install because of "references" module not found... and can't install that... pymodels again stuck at "props.references"
I'm guessing you're trying to plot DV (6-2-3) ?

1-Uninstall any python version you have and reboot.
2- get and install python: https://www.python.org/
3- Open a CLI windows and type 1 by 1 all the required modules:
EG:
pip install ijson
Hi! All. Installing won't work with Python 3.11.1, try Python 3.10.9. and it will be fine. Using W11.

I made some new L1 test files. Something is definitely not working on the x800m2/x700, will do a side-by-side comparison video later...

The files have nine L1 metadata changes, it goes from max_pq 100nits to 10 000nits.
P5 version (≈700nits): https://drive.google.com/file/d/1AzIA9e ... share_link
P8 version (≈3600nits): https://drive.google.com/file/d/1yY33Df ... share_link
** you may have to remux them to TS or MKV

Hi guys. Does anyone know if it's possible to add 2160p WEB-DL HDR10 and DV to a 2160p SDR remux? Unfortunately, the UHD is SDR whereas the WEB-DL is available in HDR10 and DV.

I'm getting a black screen after creating ts files with DoviScript 1.7.1 using the batch option and with the ts files my Sony x800m2 freezes.

I also have an error easyaudioencorer: safe_fopen: createfileW failed:2

The movies are 1917 and BTTF, both of them with Dolby Vision and HDR10+ are in a makemkv file

Thanks for the support

Yes, it's a known issue with Single-track dual-layer file.
Use 4-3 instead and make a dual-track dual-layer file.

normal when you encode 7.1 audio with EAE.
you can ignore it but dont close the window before the audio conversion is done.

I ran the tool using 4-3 once with DD+ and once without, and I get no audio with BTTF. The video does play in Dolby Vision.

And what if to force LLDV on shield (in dev settings)?

Your input must have lossless audio(THD or DTS) i think. Also , no need to convert DDP audio for the x800m2.

I looked at this a couple of weeks ago and couldn't find that specific settings. How is it called exactly?

Hi, I have got a question about the behavior of the X700 when using the bdmv mode to play Dolby vision and truehd atmos content. I use tsmuxer (latest nightly) to create a bdmv folder structure from the original ripped UHD disk. Then I put the two folders, BDMV and CERTIFICATE, at the USB drive root of my external HDD. But when I try to play the bdmv folder using the x700 and opening the AVCHD virtual folder (I assume the x700 itself creates it every time in order to open the bdmv folder), only the dolby vision label appear on the right corner of my lg cx. I can confirm that FF/RW (even for +3 hours movies), chapter list, and forced subtitle indeed work as per the Dolby_Vision_Stuff table (this trick also prevents entirely the annoying green/purple bug when reproducing multiple DV m2ts). But the Dolby atmos label does not trigger (I can confirm this by opening the TV info tab on my LG cx), even though the audio is being played regularly and the player reports that the audio track is Dolby truehd (has it been downgraded or only the AC3 core is actually played? Maybe someone can shed some light on this matter, I am so confused  ). The strange fact is that if I try opening the 0000.m2ts file directly, without putting the bdmv folder at the USB drive root, Dolby atmos label and Dolby vision label both show up in the top right corner, although FF/RW is blocked. Furthermore, it seems that the maximum limit for audio tracks and subtitles is 8 when playing m2ts files, even if the latter have been muxed with tsmuxer. So, with ten audio tracks and ten subtitles, only the first eight will be read and the others will be simply ignored by the player (the cycle starts again from subtitle 1 or from audio track 1). I hope someone here can clarify this issue, could be just a bug of the TV not recognizing the atmos track, although I am really not sure about it.
