Frequent AV Sync errors with 1.17.2 in Monterey

Post by 0ldCoot »

Been burning lots of my library and the Blu Rays that have extended versions etc have numerous AV Sync errors. See the attachment. I keep the selections to only the largest file unchecking all the others. OSX Monterey using an ASUS BW-16D1X-U. Thanks for any help

ASUS drive was also flashed with ASUS 3.10. Errors occur on both BD and 4k discs. AV sync errors were happening with the original firmware as well.

I wrote a post about this a couple years ago now. It is still mostly relevant.

The short, short version is, there's nothing to worry about. Those messages are a side effect of something called seamless branching.

Actually there is a problem. BD's were ripped on a 2017 Imac running Monterey. As shown below there were tons of av sync errors. As a test I ripped the same BD in Win 10-64 on a VM with the same latest version of MKV and ASUS Blu Ray writer and track. No errors. Play back of the file from the Mac had incomplete movies, mixed chapters and audio dropouts. Going to check the Win 10 rip now. Need the experts help on this. Is there a ripping difference between OS platforms or OS versions within a platform using the same version of MKV?

Thanks for any help.
