BD+ discs rip well but do not work "on the fly"

Hi all, I'm having a problem with BD+ discs. If I try to play them by using MakeMKV as a replacement for the bluray libraries, for example with

LIBAACS_PATH=libmmbd LIBBDPLUS_PATH=libmmbd LIBBLURAY_CP=/usr/share/libbluray/lib/libbluray-j2se-gentoo.jar xine

the video stream becomes corrupted precisely after 15 minutes of playing. However, if I run MakeMKV, rip them and then play the ripped files, all is fine. This happens with all BD+ discs. All other BluRay discs work without problems. Any idea what causes this?
