Dr Zhivago

Post by dhstraayer »

I have a fancy edition. It doesn't say much about what version it is, but it is in a sort of booklet. It has the number 2000020535 on the edge. Lots of nice color pages in the middle, and a bonus disk at the back.

Here is the deal: I ran MakeMKV (some previous release) on it just fine. Then I fumble-fingered and deleted the MKV file. Fine. No problem, I've still got the disk, just run MakeMKV again, right? After all, I've been very careful with the disk, this is only the second time it has been out of the case.

I put it in, and run the current version, 1.6.7. It begins the decrypt phase, runs for about 57 seconds into the decrypt phase, and pops up an error that says "Fatal error occurred, program will now exit".

I've tried it several times, always exactly the same error. Really carefully cleaned the disk. No change.

Almost nothing in the log file:

Code: Select all

Debug log started at Tue Apr 12 04:14:56 2011 , written by MakeMKV v1X7 win(x86-release)
Using 524544KB for read cache.
001005:0000 MakeMKV v1.6.7 win(x86-release) started
001004:0000 Debug logging enabled, log will be saved as C:\Users\dave/MakeMKV_log.txt
003007:0000 Using direct disc access mode

Any clues? Suggestions? Maybe roll back to some previous version? (I hope I still have old versions on my disk...)

Thanks in advance

**News Flash**
I reverted to 1.6.2, and it seems to be working just fine. Am about 10% through as I write this, but it looks like it's going ok. So somewhere between 1.6.2 and 1.6.7 we seem to have "broken" it, at least for this disk.

A known problem in 1.6.6/1.6.7 but the cause is unknown. Please submit a crash dump for troubleshooting per instructions at http://www.makemkv.com/onlinehelp/dump.html

The dump wasn't very big, I've attached a zip of the dump.
