Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Got an off topic question for u guys,(should know this but never really checked myself)
If a fel is present in an imax enhanced disc
Does a 1080p fel adjust aspect ratio to reflect the bl, im not in front a pc but more than likely it does.
Using ffmpeg & h265 can generate a fel & bl with dee simostainously I managed to compile h265, for dee was thinking of attempting ffmpeg
And using the imax web dl of Thor as base layer & using the hdr Thor version to create grain or fel layer from the hdr10 high bitrate. I would have to do 2 versions separate & mux
Sounds crazy but I think it’s possible we’ll not if the aspect ratio changes, also diff version might not be the same length.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
please try this. Now when the script detects that the input width is not 3840px or 1920px, it will use mkvextract to demux...
downside: it will only work if the input has only 1 video 1 audio (THD DTS or EC3/AC3) and will select only 1 sub. Wont work for dual audio input.
better than nothing I guess...

The only two movies im aware of that are IMAX and FEL are Mission.Impossible.Fallout.2018 and Aquaman.2018.Manixx2020beyound wrote: ↑Wed Oct 05, 2022 5:35 pmGot an off topic question for u guys,(should know this but never really checked myself)

I have checked Fallout and the EL changes its aspect as BL.
left=BL, right=EL

Thank you as I suspected,
Aquaman,I taught that was Mel
I guess it creating a fel with the hdr10 would only be beneficial if the hdr 10 uhd version has imax scenes but no dv.

Im not sure, the EL is 2093 kbps.Manixx2020beyound wrote: ↑Fri Oct 07, 2022 12:28 amThank you as I suspected,

There are not really a lot of Bluray IMAX DV.
I hope Top Gun 2 will come out as IMAX DV.

Maybe we should open another topic to summarize all the points discussed here. The first post is already too outdated.

Hi, RESET_9999. When will the AAC be?

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
I checked again last night and AAC 7.1 is played as 5.1 on LG TVs. So I won't add support for that....
But tell me exactly the ffmpeg command line you want me to use and I'll change the EC3 workflow to AAC and make a special version of my script just for you.
Someone should tell the mp4box devs that it cannot mux coreless 7.1 EC3 track properly. The audio stutter and it's probably exactly the same problem tsMuxer had before the latest version.
Then I could add proper 7.1 audio support to the mp4 workflows.
@jcdr428.... there was a mistake, the frame length must be calculated from the independent stream only -the frame length from the dependent substream must be discarded.
Please check tomorrow's release.
The 2mbps or less layers are usually MEL.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
TS:
4-2-2 ... this workflow now automatically mux to TS. (you can be disable the muxing)
MP4 (not recommended):
7-1-4 and if it doesnt work like on the C8, then 7-2-5
Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
The coreless 7.1 atmos muxed by mp4box 2.1-DEV-rev351-gc99924ff-master seems to work in Movies & TV, I can't get it to work on my iPad, probably because of the 1664kbps high bit rate, lower bit rate 7.1 ec3 seems also fine. But currently i don't really have proper 7.1 playback device around.RESET_9999 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 07, 2022 4:24 pmSomeone should tell the mp4box devs that it cannot mux coreless 7.1 EC3 track properly. Found another FEL IMAX, First.Man.2018, 6606 kbps EL. Haven't checked it yet.
Why they all release in 2018?

those files are not coreless EC3.sw5163 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 07, 2022 7:13 pmThe coreless 7.1 atmos muxed by mp4box 2.1-DEV-rev351-gc99924ff-master seems to work in Movies & TV, I can't get it to work on my iPad, probably because of the 1664kbps high bit rate, lower bit rate 7.1 ec3 seems also fine. maximum bitrate for a coreless EC3 is 1024kbps.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
You are right, mp4box gives a lot of [AC3Dmx] error when importing the two 1024kbps eac3.RESET_9999 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 07, 2022 7:22 pmthose files are not coreless EC3.

And interestingly, my iPad can play those two, but not the DEE 1536kbps one with core.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
yeah, I'm pretty it's the same issue tsMuxer had and that it can easily be fixed.

TrueHD+ac3 will it work with device supports at all?@jcdr428.... there was a mistake, the frame length must be calculated from the independent stream only -the frame length from the dependent substream must be discarded.
