Hi, RESET_9999! I wanted you to do 7/4/2, 7/4/3, 7/4/4 and 7/4/5 command mode save y and n. I need to save RPU.

these workflows convert/inject without extracting the rpu so I won't do that since it would make the already long process much longer.
You can use 2-2 to extract the rpu of any file.

Yes 2-2 green screen. Okay, I checked again after I'll let you know.

There is a rip mkv video file with following specs: dvhe.08.06, BL+RPU, 3 840*1 600, 23.976 FPS

After muxing it with tsMuxer or with RESET_9999’s DoVi Scripts (infinite gratitude)) 800m2 gives grey bars and 1080p60 signal.
Panasonic tv internal player stretches the image vertically removing black bars and lengthen object on the screen.

Checked with m2ts or mp4 containers.

Is there a way to solve this issues?

I'm talking about 2-2... not 7-2-2 or whatever mp4muxer workflow you tried....
Yes 2-2 green screen.
please stop with that. you seem confused about what DV profile your input files are.

Cropped video(black bars were not encoded in the video).

On the x800m2, there is no solution and it sounds like your TV cant play cropped content properly as well.

I recently bought a sony 77a80j set and now I can get DV. I see none of my MKV files will display in DV, I guess I now recall that limitation at the time was no concern. Buried in this thread are there simplified steps to make new backups or is this still very much a bit complicated.

Something else I discovered what I thought was caused by an update to my Oppo 203 player a few years ago. My MKV Dolby Atmos backups no longer displayed Atmos only multichannel+ dolby. The DTSX remain normal. As far as I can tell the sound is the same. So figuring out DV and playing the original discs both issues go away.

While using Resolve to generate DV metadata, do I only need to "Detect Scene Cuts" for variable aspect ratio files, or for cropped files as well?

you always need to detect scene cuts, otherwise, your metadata wont be dynamic.
you always need to set the proper blanking too.

Ah, I see. Changing the timeline resolution from 3840x2160 to 3840x1600, to match the original file, isn't enough?

yes, you can do that as well.
Make sure you leave the blanking to 0 in that case.
