in SDF.bin
Internal error 0x8d000000

Also followed the troubleshooting steps by opening a regular Blu-ray wihtout any error messages and still get the same error :/
Any ideas?

What case is your drive in
I've bought that cheap one, which was recommended by a friend of mine
https://www.amazon.de/techPulse120-Lauf ... B072WJRK4R

Did some more search and found one of you post, with the recommendation to plugin the drive directly via sata.
I'll try this later when Im back at home
Yeah I'm guessing this is caused by the case don't try and flash it in there anymore with another cheap case I saw a guy brick his drive he had to send it to me for recovery

That can brick a drive? Daymn, good to know, ty!
Since dont have any matcha cables/adapters for that slim sata stuff, guess I'm gonna order a Vantec NST-510S3-BK case as recommended in you guide.
Or is there any other (better?) case? I see in your selling thread that you use a different one for the BU40N
Regards and big thanks

I purchased an Archgon MD8107. It came with encrypted 1.02 FW but I was able to flash to 1.03MK.
I have two options for 1.0 firmware, DE_flash_HL-DT-ST_BD-RE_BU40N_BU10 or DE_LG BU40N_1.00 which one do I want to use? MakeMKV says it's a HL-DT-ST drive but I see some people using the LG firmware.

Don't matter same thing the BU10 one is technically for buffalo drives
HL stands for Hitachi LG they are all LG drives the ones we flash so far.

Hello all,

This is my first time doing this so please forgive me if my question is a stupid one. I bought the LG WH16NS60 and was able to successfully flash it down...downgrade the firmware to 1.02 or so I believe I did. MakeMKV does show the firmware 1.02.but it still says the type is blu-ray instead of 4K. When it's done properly will it say 4K next to type or will it say blu-ray? I used the SDFtool Flasher (v1.34) in case that makes a difference. I even tried seeing if DVDFab would show 4K, but it keeps prompting "Failure opening the disc due to unfriendly firmware installed on drive". It did it before the flash and it's doing after. I have attached a screenshot in case that helps.

Hey guys I really want to get a drive but last time I followed the recommendations here it turned out that the drive was not supported by the currentl for MacOS. I have a 2021 iMac that utilizes the M1 chip.

Can anyone recommend a drive that is compatible with newer Macs? Really don't want to have to return another drive after finding out the hard way.

Thanks!

Thanks for the guide. I was able to snag an ASUS BW-16D1HT with an older firmware and upgrade to 3.1 Patched.

Looking forward to the new ATHF movies coming out and I can finally put some of my more obscure titles on the Plex.

I'm pulling out what's left of my hair.

I have an LG WP50NB40 NB52 that I'm spinning my tires on. I'm using the SDFtool Flasher v1.3.4 to flash the drive. I've tried flashing HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_BP50NB40-NB50-1.03-NM00800-212005070917.bin from the "All that you need firmware pack" to get to stage one of these steps (mainly because I ran into a roadblock sourcing "BP50NB40-NB50-1.03MK") :
NB52 to > BP50NB40-NB50-1.03MK with enc > BP50NB40-NB50-1.03MK with bootloader/full flash > BP60NB10 1.00_HBD from Marty

The only reason I figure I'm failing is that no matter what I do, and how many times I'm "successful" per SDFtool, BP60NB10 1.00_HBD never takes hold (see link below). For the life of me don't know where I'm going wrong. I'm not new to flashing devices but this is completely evading me.

No, no, no..... No need for the bootloader or my old HBD firmware! All of the required firmware files can be found in the MK firmware pack. Here is the link: viewtopic.php?f=19&t=19113

Here is what to do.:

1. Flash your WP50NB40-NB52-1.03 to BP50NB40-NB50-1.03-MK (or WP50B40-NB50-1.03-MK).
2. For the second flash it is a little different. Select the recovery option.
3. In the popup select the same firmware file that you just previously flashed.
4. Now in the normal firmware selection dropdown box select the firmware you want on the drive (I use either BP60NB10 1.00-MK or BU40N 1.00).
5. Press START and wait around 30 seconds until the process has fully completed and the flasher says "Ready..."

That's it! Easy peasy!!
Cheers :D

BAM!
Product: BD-RE BP60NB10
Revision: 1.02

The only BP60NB10 bin in the pack you linked was this one at 1.02, will that suffice?
I probably had this earlier in the day, it was the step about grabbing the proper .bin file on the 1st pop up of the Recover Drive I was getting wrong. I was picking the wrong version.
