Issue with a ripped Blu Ray

I'm backing up some of my blu rays with MakeMKV and I noticed on one that is an anime movie that during a sequence where it's a sort of panning shot of landscape the playback in VLC seems kind of choppy or jittery. Is this an issue with my rip or with my playback settings in VLC or something?

If MakeMKV said the rip was successful, then it is a faithful copy of the bits that were on the plastic disc.
