Thank you, I'll check that out. I've made hybrids before, but not one where the quality on the DV source is different, so I was thrown off. Out of curiosity, what would be the difference if I simply had the 2160p DV layer? Would both layers produce the exact same thing, or is there slight quality loss with the 1080p layer?
The metadata are exactly the same (except the active area of course).
So no quality loss... I do it all the time by the way.
if i have 2 hevc files in the media container. 1 for main and 2 for DV metada. so which profile is this?
i'm now always converting my mkv file to ts and then i use you' re program, if there is only one hevc file in the container. is this the correct way? (4-2-3)
2 video tracks = profile 7 but for an MKV file (or original m2ts) mediainfo won't display the information.
You don't have to remux to TS. (4-2) will do the conversion regardless of if your input is dual or single track.
This was added recently, so make sure you use the latest version of the script.

Thanks. What is the recommended way of finding the "active area"? MediaInfo simply says 3840x2160 (for the 4K HDR) and 1920x1080 (for the 1080p DV).
Hi all. Stupid question here, but is there a difference between a 1080p DV layer and 2160p DV layer? There is a release I am trying to hybridize and I have the 4K HDR, but only have access to the 1080p Profile 5 DV. Does anyone have any experience with something like that?
you only have to edit L5.
Sorry, can you clarify what you mean? The phrasing of your answer seems to imply that it doesn't matter that it's 1080p, but I was hoping to hear more about it.
I think it is not a problem related to the script itself, it's something else. Infact many other things don't work, for example: when I try to convert HDR10Plus to DoVi it does all steps correctly, unitl it tries to find the RPU.bin to inject into the BL, but it is not able to do that: It says it's impossible to find that file, and I end up with a 0kb .hevc file.

Automatic way:
When you run my script, it will ask you if you want to edit L5, enter "y" and then enter "a" when it asks you if you want auto or manual L5.
Manual way:
I use staxrip crop function(check the tutorial video in my script link) but it might be easier for you to use avspmod: https://www.videohelp.com/software/AvsP

Well, it looks like my file doesn't have black bars (both 4K HDR and 1080p DV). Here is a screenshot https://i.ibb.co/jvh1GDp/SS.png. unless the blue bar means something? the blue bar moves when I move the mouse
When there is no black bars, L5 should be set to 0.
If your 1080p is not an itunes web-dl, it should be already set to 0. You can quickly verify any DV metadata with my script : (2-3)

Yes the L5 is at 0, confirmed with the script. In your original response, you said that I only needed to edit L5. Is that no longer true for this 4K HDR + 1080p DV?
Hi, I'm kind of new to this script, and every time I try to measure something (HDR10, HDR10Plus or DoVi) I get many errors. I don't know why, since I'm pretty sure I installed all the required py modules. Anyway, this is the log
Could someone help me?
interesting, it fails when it tries to save the data into a graph, I have never seen that error and I didn't write that python script so I can't really help you here.( I assure you it's working on my PC)
Try to run DoVi Scripts from another drive. Not from your system C:
The same happened to me and it solved. I still got error message but I can find the picture in the output folder.

right , for that case, you only have to convert P5 to P8.
I suggest you always check the dv source L5 before doing a Hybrid though. Because you will notice that a lot of DV web-dl has incorrect or missing L5.
