Are you able to rip yet? Or anyone else? I emailed my dump on the 17th. I think I might get the dumps with other drives I have and re-send them. I hope I don't have a bad disc. Maybe just busy with other dumps.

I e-mailed the dump on 08/08 and nothing happened for a while so I got fed up and tried the disc with passkey which ripped it.

That's true! I mean it's absolutely crazy (in a good way of cause) what mike has built but a one-man show is kinda risky. I hope that at least two independent persons have access to the code and the tools behind makemkv. (Is this known information?)

+1. As a software developer myself, I find commercial products developed and maintained by a single person to be very risky.

I believe there must be some specific issue with this disc that makes it difficult to support. It'll be great to hear some explanations from MakeMKV maintainers.

At least, other discs with unknown volume key seem to be addressed at a regular pace, e.g. on 15th September, I tried to back up the new german release of "Chungking Express", got the "Volume key is unknown", sent the dump. Then tried it again on the 24th of September and it worked.

I don´t think this is specific to this disc. I submitted the dump for the german Halloween Kills UHD disc on Sep. 8 and again on Sep. 15 and the disc is still not working. I have also not seen any HK downloads in the past two weeks, only two SDF downloads but they had no impact on decrypting the disc.

I hope Mike is doing well and he is just busy working on the logic that doesn´t need an internet connection to decrypt new discs. (This has been written here in the forums as a rumor => viewtopic.php?f=1&t=29185)
