Ubuntu 22.04.1 LTS x86_64
2022 Dell Inspiron 15 3000 Laptop
with a MthsTec, USB 3.0, External Bluray DVD Drive,
trying to rip the outpost extended directors cut 4k ultra hd on blu ray
and for whatever reason ubuntu, or vlc, or makemkv or handbrake is not seeing the movie, it see's the mthstec drive but it's not seeing the blu ray movie,
ubuntu, vlc, makemkv, and handbrake all play and see dvd film just fine and i have
sudo apt install libdvd-pkg && sudo dpkg-reconfigure libdvd-pkg installed,
but for whatever reason my computer and all my programs don't see my blu ray movies, what can i do?

You did not mention UHD on your drive specs. BD is NOT UHD.
The order is DVD, BD, and UHD for drive capabilities. Any drive built before 2016 is almost certainly not UHD capable.
