If I'm correct, your player has the same Amlogic S922XJ as my Ugoos. Therefore I can't imagine your Minix not being able to handle MVC 3D properly.
What isn't clear to me is if you've tried to play from 3DBD ISO or folder structure?
Yh that is weird same chip but just tried 3D MVC/ISO via kodi & internal player and no go, oh well I'll just get vero+ or any other 3DMVC player. As always Thanks for your help.

Sorry to necro post in an old thread, but I was searching the web for .mk3d and how it relates to makemkv (or more specifically to see if makemkv produced the same thing that mkvtoolnix does) and I found this old thread and have a few things to add.

Those Amlogics (Ugoos AM6B+ in my case) can play 3D MVC rips now with CoreELEC and it supports either .mkv or .mk3d extensions. I think using the latter extension will help CoreELEC recognize it as a 3D rip and show the icon in the UI, otherwise it seemed you needed to add "3D" somewhere in the file name from my brief testing. Also, you don't have to remux a .mkv that makemkv produces into a .mk3d with mkvtoolnix, just (optionally) rename the file extension to .mk3d and use the header editor in mkvtoolnix to edit the "Video stereo mode" header to add 13 for its value. It's a lot faster than remuxing. It would be cool if makemkv at least automatically set this header (which afaik, shouldn't break compatibility with any player). I also found that Plex (which I'm using as my Kodi backend) doesn't recognize .mk3d extensions, so I'm stuck using .mkv.
