as the title states I am getting errors trying to rip my movies. everything was working perfectly until I updated my iMac with the Catalina update. all of a sudden I am getting errors such as:
Error 'Scsi error - ILLEGAL REQUEST:COPY PROTECTION KEY EXCHANGE FAILURE - AUTHENTICATION FAILURE' occurred while issuing SCSI command A30..00200740100720..0C584BC2BEE573312E4BFE0320244B9D474 to device 'IoKit:IOBDServices:8bdbd0eee8f1a2c0:HL-DT-ST BD-RE BP50NB40 1.02'
and
Error 'Scsi error - ILLEGAL REQUEST:COPY PROTECTION KEY EXCHANGE FAILURE - KEY NOT ESTABLISHED' occurred while issuing SCSI command AD010..080002400 to device 'IoKit:IOBDServices:8bdbd0eee8f1a2c0:HL-DT-ST BD-RE BP50NB40 1.02'
DVD's are ripping just fine (for now) its just the blu rays...the drive shouldn't be failing as it can play Blu-ray's and the fact that I just got it like 2-3 week's ago.

I wonder if power cycling the drive will help?
Shutdown MakeMKV.
If it is powered by USB, unplug both cables, wait several seconds and plug it back in.
If it is powered by a wall plug, unplug power, wait several seconds and plug it back in.
There are tiny computers inside optical drives that run the firmware for the drive. The only way to reboot them is to remove power for a bit, then power them back up again.
