I think this is precisely the way it works. I believe it will always send TV-led DV (8 bit) if the TV supports it, otherwise it will send LLDV (12 bit). There is no option to switch between player-led and TV-led on the Sony, I think Oppo 203 has this option (as well as the Zidoo players).deadchip12 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 05, 2022 8:46 amDoes the x700 switch to tv led dolby vision automatically when the tv supports tv led dolby vision? The Sync Box synchronizes the lights of different Philips hue products to the image on the screen.deadchip12 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 04, 2022 11:04 pm
Is there a way to check if the x700 is playing tv led dolby vision instead of play led?
The Sync Box works with Dolby Vision only if it’s player-led (LLDV). It doesn’t work with TV-led Dolby Vision, unless I switch on the “Dolby Vision Enhanced compatibility” option inside the Sync Box settings. This option basically forces the player to switch to LLDV and then the lights work. So if the Hue lights sync without the DV enhanced compatibility option checked - it’s player-led DV. If they don’t work - it’s TV-led DV.

Do you guys see any difference perceptually with TV led? Or just want it cause it's technically better? I know even if you see something it could be subjective in perception, etc - just curious really. I feel like when I watch a FEL for example the image has more depth to it it seems.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
it depends on which player you use. On the x700/x800m2/Shield the L1 and L2 trims are not working at all in LLDV.

if you want profile 8 DV for TV playback(or any other non-fel device) and your MKV input is profile 7, select: 4-2-1 if you have to convert lossless audio or if not: 4-2-3sergonnn111 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 06, 2022 7:50 pmHI i don t understand how i can drag and drop mkv file doly vision into reset999 scripts i want to do ts file dolby vision i just dont understand sorry for my english
if you want DV playback on x700/x800m2/oppo and your MKV input is profile 7, select: 4-3-2 if you want to convert THD or if not: 4-3-4
There are workflows for when your input is bluray disc as well.
if your MKV input is profile 8 or 5, just remux in tsmuxer.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
with tsmuxer file + plex on 2018 LG tv:
1- Audio must be AC3 / EAC3 or DTS,DTSHD. DV won't work if the audio is TrueHD.
2- pgs subtitles must not be selected: only external srt works with DV TS
Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
@RESET_9999 how do I rip a Profile 7 FEL Dolby Vision UHD disc that contains 3 or 4 different videos in it (tv series)? I wish to make separate BluRay folders for each episode in tsmuxer. Thanks

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
good question, and I'm not sure.
I guess Makemkv or bdinfo can list all the mpls files (episodes order) and then you can use tsmuxer, as usual, to make a bdmv folder for each episode.
Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
I used your script to list the mpls files, it basically lists them in the correct order (one episode after the other). Then I imported every playlist separately into tsmuxer and made separate BluRay folders for each episode. Works like a charm! Thank you!RESET_9999 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 07, 2022 12:26 pmgood question, and I'm not sure.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Does anybody have any clever solutions when using a USB HDD on the Sony x800m2?
It seems like a pain to unplug the hard drive, connect to a PC and update the movies, and then reconnect it, etc.
Are there any wifi hard drives or anything to make this process easier and not require unplugging the drive?
The main reason I'm interested in this is for the BDMV support so I don't need to manually enable force subtitles?

@deadchip suggested this. Not sure if he tried.sofakng wrote: ↑Sun Aug 07, 2022 2:43 pmDoes anybody have any clever solutions when using a USB HDD on the Sony x800m2?

I would get one that is USB 3.0 or C though. (if your pc support it)
Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Thanks... I was looking for something more automated (or remotely controlled/switched via network).
Anyways, I still have another week to return my x800m2 to Amazon. I'm learning towards returning it... I know there aren't really any alternatives for FEL playback (besides Oppo) though, but x800m2 has a few issues:

- Dolby Vision doesn't automatically trigger
- Ethernet is only 100 Mbps
- Doesn't support IP network control (for my Control4 system)
- TS/M2TS requires manual forced subtitles and no chapters
