Darn! I've just ordered an oppo-clone but now I guess I should cancel it before it ships?

if you have a CX or newer, yes i would try to cancel.

Thanks ... hopefully it hasn't shipped yet.
I purchased both an x800m2 (received from Amazon) and oppo-clone (m9201, not yet shipped).
I have an LG CX and LG C1 but they don't support DTS or any lossless, right?
I've been trying to understand everything to get a "complete" UHD playback setup but it now seems impossible?

correct, no dts support nor truehd via internal player. I convert to EAC3 5.1 1536kbps and get good quality (ARC).sofakng wrote: ↑Wed Jul 20, 2022 4:42 pmThanks ... hopefully it hasn't shipped yet.

EAC3 7.1 doesnt work on my end via ARC.
I wonder if this would allow me to play DV TS + LPCM 7.1 via EARC to my ARC AVR.

Thank you so much Reset for these findings. I was so close to purchasing x800m2 after going through your excel file sheet about all the players and its capabilities. I even had it in my cart
But I guess I should be satisified with my shield pro and lg cx.
Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
I have almost the same exact product (SHARC v1) but I haven't used it yet. I ordered it a while ago but never used it on my LG CX but I'm going to try on my new LG C1. I'll let you know how it works.RESET_9999 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 20, 2022 5:01 pmI wonder if this would allow me to play DV TS + LPCM 7.1 via EARC to my ARC AVR.

Now that the x800m2/700/Oppo have a known bug, what is the next best method for playing FEL movies?

I don't think there are any FEL devices that support cmv4.x unfortunately...
maybe the expensive Panasonic?

Your Mutli_pattern_dv_p8 sample looks weird on Plex, but OK on OppoRESET_9999 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 20, 2022 2:38 pmthose video are TV-led
it's also an issue with LLDV and it's actually a lot worse because not even L2 works with player-led TV.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
yep, I noticed that too. It behaves a bit like the Shield but not as bad.
But Quietvoid found out that the BL luma is messed up in the original spears pattern. It's also encoded with incorrect static metadata.
If we fix the BL luma, no more clipping/conversion error at the bottom on the shield and C2, so I'm not sure this pattern is actually helpful

Thanks, good to know, didn't know it had issues (Spears messed up so many things with that disc, and it's used for benchmarkingRESET_9999 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 20, 2022 7:02 pmyep, I noticed that too. It behaves a bit like the Shield but not as bad.

Then let's try out this one, Seq Dovi 16mps (profile 5), form le labo dejay, it has similar pattern in the beginning:

Off: good thing is that 2022 models has pretty good Hdr10, even in PC mode! What a turnaround...

I tried that pattern the first week I got my Tv and didn't see anything wrong with it.chros wrote: ↑Wed Jul 20, 2022 8:14 pmThanks, good to know, didn't know it had issues (Spears messed up so many things with that disc, and it's used for benchmarking).

Regardless of the issue with cmv2.9 hdmi device, I think the 2022 LG oled are amazing TV at least for HDR. I don't watch SDR stuff on it.
Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
This new DV incompatibility with newer TVs might be the final straw for me with Dolby Vision haha. Seems just far too easy for me to just convert all my BDMV folder rip of DV films to HDR10 and call it a day.
Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Thank you @RESET_999 This is a huge revelation. Anyone know how to contact Dolby lab about this issue, maybe they can update old players to cm4.0?

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
I don't think they can do that but I'm sure they can fix the issue via a firmware update on the newer TVs.
