Blu-Ray Errors Abundant

I'm new to MakeMKV and am really loving it. I'm in the process of moving about 200 music concert films to a Plex server, and have been downloading some of the Blu-Rays and DVDs that I already own as a timesaver. The .ISO files are converting perfectly, but every single BDMV file that I convert fails. I've tried with about 8 titles so far that play perfectly via VLC but fail in MakeMKV.

I'm about to buy a BD external drive on Amazon, but before I do so, I just wanted to see if anybody has any suggestions on what else I can try?

Failing how? What exactly are you doing and what is happening?

I just posted to "Failed to install CdRom Device Arbiter Service". I had problems with 3 Blu-ray discs I tried and gave up. I had wondered if my problem was due to the CdRom install failure.
I note I have a new Pioneer Blu-ray player and am not experiencing problems with it.

There are a number of ways disks can fail initially.
