Latest MakeMKV v1.16.7 too old?

I started MakeMKV today and got the message "your version is too old. please download the current one..". I downloaded MakeMKV 1.16.7 for Mac OS X from www.makemkv.com as I did many times ago. I installed it. When I started it, I got the same message again saying that the installed version is too old. Interestingly, the modify timestamp of the newly installed MakeMKV.app is 02/27/2022 which seems to indicate that it's not the latest version.
First, I thought my previous version didn't get replaced so that I entirely removed MakeMKV.app before another install attempt. Unfortunately, the result was the same again. The resulting MakeMKV.app is from 02/27/2022 and the MakeMKV rejects to start on Mac.
Is anyone else experiencing the same issue with this version?

I would have thought that Out of date V1.16.7 would have been obvious to everyone, but apparently I was incorrect.
