This is a strange one, and not specifically about MakeMKV...
I've tested this on two different copies of this disc (an Australian import), as well as two different drives, with the same results on both. In both cases, the disc keeps trying to spin up, but finally gives up without successfully mounting it. It just spins down and ejects the disc. Both disc work fine on a standalone A/V component Blu-ray player (probably one of the cheapest possible decks you can buy). Both drives are fine with any other disc.

Just curious is anyone has had a similar issue, and has any advice.
Thanks!

clean the disc with a damp very soft cloth and buff dry with another.

Yup, have tried this with both discs (microfiber for both passes). Definitely not a cleaning issue.Billycar11 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 13, 2022 11:21 pmclean the disc with a damp very soft cloth and buff dry with another.

Just received the Imprint Zhang Yimou / Gong Li box set, and exactly the same issue. Speaking with Imprint support (who were dismissive), they hinted that there is "encryption" that "may" prevent it from playing. So my guess is this is intentional, and likely affects all Imprint discs.
Does anyone have any success with Imprint discs? If so, could you please post what drive you're using?
