Loading Please wait -forever

I put in a DVD https://thetvdb.com/series/break-it-down and MakeMKV gives a status of Loading... Please wait and gets stuck there.

I'm on version 1.16.7 I can here that the disc is not even spinning anymore.
I'm on Windows 10 64 bit
It plays in VLC with no problem
When I browse the disc I see it has a TON of files. There are ~94 1G .vob files and another ~94 240M .vob files.
Any Ideas?

open makemkv after windows sees the disc

Well I guess that got things a little closer. Now it says Scanning CD-ROM Devices but unfortunately, it is stuck on that screen.

I notice the registration page states that the License expiration: 01.08.2022

Is there a Beta License posted somewhere else?

That's August first, 2022. So you don't need an updated user ID yet.

Although, getting one is handy for later... Just sayin'...
