Yup it needed to install LAV Splitter. now encoding rpu at dxva2.
Succeed converting HDR10 to DV P8
Do you have others FEL Profile 7 sample?
Ypur file in signature: The dual layer FEL P7 detected as HDR10 only in my tv. single layer FEL detected as DV but jitter.
MEL is ok.

No, but maybe it's my TV, as it says here: https://community.firecore.com/t/dolby- ... /19713/306RESET_9999 wrote: ↑Fri May 27, 2022 1:46 pmso do you see an L1 response with the 8.4 sample ?NiCE77 wrote: ↑Fri May 27, 2022 5:43 amSomeone replied on the Firecore forum about Apple TV RPU management:
"Apple devices always ignore L2 trim in profile 8.4 video. Actually there are two version of Apple’s profile 8.4, the early version is L1 only and old OS (like ios14) doesn’t handle trims at all (except profile 5). The recent version uses newer algorithm which needs L8 trim."

I just downloaded the latest version tsmuxer (date: 25/02/2022) and when I add a movie file in it, it reports an error and doesn't show the dolby vision video track. Going back to a previous version of tsmuxer (date: 23/01/2022) and it works fine. Is there something wrong with the latest version of tsmuxer?

By the way, I just connected my external hdd to the x700 but it is not recognized. The external hdd is a usb 3.0 4TB WD hard drive. I read on Sony website that the max usb storage device size that the x700 can support is 4TB (GTP). I checked the hdd and its partition style is already GTP, so I'm not sure what's the problem here. I have another external hdd which is a usb 2.0 320GB Transcend hard drive and it is recognized immediately by the x700.

Throwing a guess out maybe the drive is ntfs and it needs to be exfat?deadchip12 wrote: ↑Sat May 28, 2022 1:40 pmThanks.RESET_9999 wrote: ↑Fri May 27, 2022 2:46 pmyep that's the way.deadchip12 wrote: ↑Fri May 27, 2022 1:57 pmUsing tsmuxer to convert those mkv files to .ts seems to solve the problem. Both drives are ntfs. On Sony website it also says all formats (ntfs, fat32, exfat) are supported.Billycar11 wrote: ↑Sat May 28, 2022 1:52 pmThrowing a guess out maybe the drive is ntfs and it needs to be exfat?deadchip12 wrote: ↑Sat May 28, 2022 1:40 pmThanks.

Sorry that was for internal android tv player.
For sony X700, i dont have. it may only seek first partition. https://www.sony-asia.com/electronics/s ... s/00013721
my bad. Try reducing little bit size of partition instead full 4tb, maybe could help.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
I have been lurking this thread for a while and its has been an incredible source of information for me,
I do have one question...
If i have a Remux that has already been made from 2 sources(hybrid) Bluray and WEB DV5 converted to 8.1 and synced then injected to create the 8.1 with hdr fallback remux.....
if i wanted to encode that remux do i need to re-sysnc the RPU or will the extracted RPU already be synced, im assuming once the RPU is synced once and i extract it untouched it should then sync up with my encode flawlessly since the original remux i took it from was synced....
any help is appreciated..

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
If I have a profile 5 DV video with a 2.40:1 aspect ratio, is there any way to prevent the dark gray bars added by the x700 from changing brightness in response to the DV data? I don't think I'd mind the bars being dark gray by itself, but the flickering is distracting. (Short of reencoding the video to add black bars, that is. This is with TV-led DV on a C1.)
Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
okay i only ask because on a couple of my encodes (all with the exact same encode settings) i have been getting an issue where my video file will play a little crazy (video speeds up really fast)...it only happens when the DV is activated not on HDR, so i was thinking it may be a DV sync issue...here is a video an example of it speeding up...
https://imgur.com/8LOtmsG
it will do this even if the video is the only file in the MKV container so it isn't an audio issue..
im playing my files back on a chromecast with google tv...
Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
ding ding ding
that's my guess
wanted to stay with the chromecast for fel as main player but had to go back to the shield because too many qol issues with it compared to shield including dolby vision playback, for me it would skip continuously in dv mode with plex but only that device not the hisense tv or shield i have on the same files with plex, no matter if in mp4 or mkv like you
edit: i have a tivo stream 4k that can do dolby vision fel too i confirmed myself here a while ago but the device was too underpowered to even consider as my main player (has to run philips hue light entertainment zone locally on device while game streaming or watching video, which tivo couldn't do both) so i haven't tested it in a while
Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Don't know if you still have the sourcefiles, but maybe it's worth to check whether a new extract & inject RPU and remux with latest versions of dovitool and mkvtoolnix solves it.
Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Hello colleagues, first of all I apologize for my way of expressing myself because I am Spanish, I do not speak English and I use a translator.
I've been using DoVi_Scripts 1.2.1 for a couple of months, making Bluray Disc dvhe08 profiles and dvhe05 profiles without problems, with this scpript it's very easy.
But my problem is that I don't know how to extract the dolvi vision layer from a dvhe08 profile. I open the script, hit option "6"(Reader/Extractor/Remover/Editor/Audio_Converter and more), hit option "1"(Read/extract RPU metadata from SL mkv/ts/m2ts/mp4/hevc/rpu files ), then I drag the hevc file and then it asks me: Enter which frame you want to read and press enter... and this is where I don't know how to continue.
Where do I get the frames that I have to enter?
Thank you very much and greetings.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
This is not important if all you want is to extract the RPU. Just enter any number. I'll add an option to skip that in the next version.
By the way, you should update your version of the scripts
we are now at 1.3.1
Sorry for my English.
