I have an Apple TV 4K 2021 and an iPhone 12 Pro Max, so I can help.

I've added profile 8.4 generation based on iPhone 13 RPU samples.

It might need to be remuxed depending on your device.

Also remade the L2 test file in CM v4.x with the minimum required blocks, so it's still L2 only.

For profile 8.4 HLG I tested it on my side and it works. I can't see a difference between 8.1 and 8.4 by eye.
FireTV Stick 4K Max (2021, latest update): plays in Dolby Vision, L2 metadata works.
FireTV Stick 4K (2018, old update): plays in HLG, wrong colours.

I've blocked updates on my 2018 stick, so I can't test if it was added.

If anyone wants to test on other devices, feel welcome.

Do we have any ppl on this thread with Chromecast with GTV? CCWGTV i believe its called

Its suppose to support profile 7 FEL dolby vision, but the infamous excelshart has no info about CCWGTV really

If anyone who has it and uses it for this purpose could explain how well it works etc?

I had the CCWGTV for only a few days and it did play FEL MKVs in PLEX but the problem was that if you FF/RW/resume, the EL went out of sync.
Also, it defaults to LLDV instead of regular TV-LED.

it was a while ago, so it may have been fixed by now.

My TV can not do TV-LED DV anyway so thats not a problem for me.
But the out of sync might be

hi, I tried everything possible script, Nothing allows me to watch my movie in Dolby Vision on my LG C1 it always shows me the logo "HDR" I convert profile 7 dual layer to profile 8 still does not work, If anyone can help me it would be so nice I at the bottom of the barrel after almost a week of research

1. For MKV to MP4, with PGS Subtitle included, it shall be continue process with asking for additonal SRT file instead stop it. And there is a workway just remux the audio stream, EAC/AC3 with Atmos, no need of decoding or convert it. OR there is mkv muxer script with removing SUP subtitle and adding SRT instead.

Mode 5 - MKV to TS,
Failed to auto-detect SRT encoding : falling back to the active code page
Invalid SRT format. "PG" is invalid timing info
Decoding E-AC3 (DD+) stream (track 2): Bitrate: 538Kbps (core 0Kbps) Sample Rate: 48KHz Channels: 7.1

2. For MP4 muxing from Mode.M4
Only 1 SRT subtitle can be added. Cant add more?
Seems not working on my Hisense for showing subtitle inside.
I Will try with subler for comparison instead, but need a hackintosh for use it. Usually worked for my old HD samsung TV.

update to the latest version, it sounds like you're using an older version. I did many changes in the mp4muxer mode recently.

1:
-MKV P7 to MP4 (workflows 4-5) now includes SRT subtitles only if present in the source (no more external option). And sorry, I'm not converting PGS to SRT and wont add support for that. In my experience, OCR always needs manual verification.
-MP4 modes are not converting audio if the input contains AC3 or EC3 track.

Mode 5 - MKV to TS:
MKV to TS batch mode is working on my end... did you try the file in tsmuxer? some SRT track wont works sometimes.

Workflow.1= ANY VIDEO + ANY AUDIO(lossless audio included) + SRT subtitle(external) : if you demux your files, it can do pretty much anything now. 2 audio 2 srt / no srt no audio / 2 audio no srt / 1audio 1srt etc...

if not then try the mp4muxer P8 modes or nightly tsmuxer.

so the LLDV bug is even worse than we thought??

We did not test LLDV with the first version but @GREMez comment is about it.

you remuxed as bluray folder and tried to play the m2ts ? that's the problem.
You have to mux your BD straight to TS or M2TS.

@GREMez has no l1/l2 response with the shield without using any vertex.

As you said, the Shield doesn't support LLDV.
So the TV expects to receive the preprocessed image as input, which the Shield isn't doing.

At least that's how I understand it.

The shield supports LLDV, the x700/x800m2 as well.
They just don't have an option in the display settings to select it. instead they use the TV EDID to choose the DV mode.
