with one should i buy new BW-16D1HT or LG BU40N?

Hello i am considering getting a drive for ripping some blu ray drives and some uhd drives.


Does it matter for the ASUS one to have a specific firmware version when purchasing it I have read somewhere if it comes with the latest firmware it us not possible to flash it to another firmware. and is it good for also watching the uhd drives directly. Or should I just get the lg one as it is officially uhd supported and flash it so I can rip with it?
The ASUS one is about 10 dollars more expensive than the lg one.

I would recommend the BU40N for playback because the asus will have the sleep bug unless your crossflash to WH16NS60 but then you may lose the ability to burn
