So I'm upgrading from the Archgon MD-8107S-U3-UHD external drive to an LG BP60NB10 External Drive. The reason I'm upgrading is that the Archgon was causing circular scratches on my disc's from time to time.
What are people's experiences with the LG drive. Am I getting a good one or should I send it back to Amazon after I receive it?
Thanks

Re: LG BP60NB10 External Drive
Well, it's not really an upgrade as they are essentially the same hardware. The LG is in a plastic enclosure whereas the Archgon isn't. Give the LG a try and see how you go.strubdog wrote: ↑Fri Mar 25, 2022 1:42 amSo I'm upgrading from the Archgon MD-8107S-U3-UHD external drive to an LG BP60NB10 External Drive. Make sure wherever you put the drive, it is level as I find circular scratches happen when the drive is running and it is not level.
Cheers

I just received my drive. It shows as having firmware version 1.02. Do I still need to flash this?
Thanks
Thanks

What does MakeMKV report in the Drive/LibreDrive info sections? You can copy/paste.

Re: LG BP60NB10 External Drive
I read the guide beforehand. Here is the entry I'm confused about:
"BP50NB40 to > BP50NB40-NB50-1.03MK then to > BP60NB10 1.02MK or 1.00MK
NB52 to > BP50NB40-NB50-1.03MK with enc > BP50NB40-NB50-1.03MK with bootloader/full flash > BP60NB10 1.00_HBD from Marty download/file.php?id=2143
if using command line add "full" after rawflash
BP60NB10 on any Firmware directly to > BP60NB10 1.02MK"
It looks like it references 2 different drives.

It is 2 references for 2 drives. You have a BP60NB10 so you should only concern yourself with "BP60NB10 on any Firmware directly to > BP60NB10 1.02MK"strubdog wrote: ↑Thu Apr 07, 2022 4:22 amI read the guide beforehand. Here is the entry I'm confused about:

You said your's came with 1.02, so flash it to BP60NB10 1.02-MK and done! Start ripping.

Re: LG BP60NB10 External Drive
Which thread has the link to this specific firmware?
Re: LG BP60NB10 External Drive
Disregard, I was able to get it flashed.
