Bluray audio playback

I'm interested in being able to use the hi res audio that is available on Bluray Audio discs. Even though I believe they are PCM files I've been told you can't just copy them to your music server. Mine (an Aurender) can play both PCM and DSD in the normal audio formats, for PCM apple stuff, AIFF, ALAC, and for Pc WAV and FLAC. Does anyone know if a program is truly required and, if so, will this program enable it to be decoded to a normal PCM music file? I'm think of disks like the Pure Audio hi res releases that are on Bluray but audio only. Thanks
