Newbie, help please, disk reading?

Post by insurancepi68 »

Ok, I'm trying to rip 4k Close Encounters with a drive a purchased from a link on here, it's a LG BU40N slim drive , libre Drive Mid, firmware 1.0 (in an enclosure) the guy I purchased it from makes them like that.
Ok, so I put the disk in the drive and the picture of the drive on make mkv starts turning and the drive is spinning, but it just keeps spinning, like it's been 20 minutes. Now this is a 90GB 3 layer disc. So my simple question is how long should it take to just read the disk so I can select what I want to rip and start the process. I'm not asking how long it will take to rip, but how long to read the darn disk to just show the info so I can select what I want? The guy I purchased the drive from is very reputable and has links on this site and is highly recommended. I don't think it's the drive. Any info would be helpful.

Ok, that worked, it read the disk. So then I clicked on the drive and now it's decrypting...how long approximately should that take. My Drive is 6x...but I don't know what is reading at. Sorry for the questions. After I get to where I can select that data to rip, I'll be ok. I really appreciate your help.

A 90GB UHD would take around 1 hour give or take a few minutes.
Cheers :D
