Turn off the audio enhancement in cyberlink and set it to fully passthrough to your suround sound system that hopefully supports Atmos/true hd and dtsx/ dts ma.hardcore_gamer29 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 17, 2022 12:59 pmi have pc windows 10 wih cyberlink powerdvd 21 ultra. what should i do and why 2nd option works fine then?Billycar11 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 17, 2022 10:54 ambecause your player or surround sound does not decode it right

Re: UHD ripped audio distortion
If you use MediaInfo to look at your rips you'll probably see that one of the 5.1 sound tracks is one of the lossless formats Dolby TrueHD or DTS-MA or similar. Those audio tracks require a proper setup to correctly decode. The other sound track is probably the accompanying 'lossy core', which is a much more common Dolby Digital AC-3 or DTS. Those 'lossy core' tracks have been well supported in hardware and software for a long time.
As Billycar11 suggested, there's probably something in your playback setup that can't handle whatever lossless format is in use. MakeMKV makes a correct 1:1 copy of whatever is on the disc, so it is unlikely to be the cause of distortion.
