Thanks :) Im on Mac, im using Plex atm as DLNA server. The interesting part is that the DT-DL doesn't play at all, black screen on my X800M2.
yep, I'm noticing that too.. some work, some don't. Looks like the x800 is pickier than the x700.
p8 seem fine so far
What would be the alternative to check DT DL FEL?

I already tested FEL as I said.
RPU-FEL TEST DT DL p7.mp4 works but the TS file doesn't. Same with some movies, looks like it's the one that were remuxed from mkv files. I'll do some test about that

EDIT: yes, so far, all the DT DL ts file made from bluray iso works but a lot of those I made from MKV ST-DL fails to play.

Bummer, my hope in all this madness would be to keep all ST-DL mkv's, and when I want to watch a FEL movie, I run it through the conversion process and watch the movie :)
(Most of my library consists of ST-DL mkv atm)

yep, I replicated the issue. I remuxed an ISO to MKV and then to TS DT-DL and it doesn't play ( black screen and player sees lpcm audio)
I remuxed the same ISO to DT-DL using tsmuxer only and the file play just fine in DV+atmos

So mkvtoolnix and makemkv are breaking something in DV.
probably because of this: https://forum.doom9.org/showpost.php?p= ... count=1084

It may explain then why the files as ST-DL also sometimes don't work?
Here's a topic on it but no answer from Mike atm:

no that is another issue I think because I have the original spears and munsil m2ts and ST-DL wont work even on the x700. Using yusesoap tool, no mkv involved.

but it looks like it can be added back. https://forum.doom9.org/showpost.php?p= ... count=1087
maybe @quietvoid could? if it's not too much work, please?

Perhaps it can be plugged into https://github.com/quietvoid/dovi_tool/issues/113

Trying to find latest version of yusesope's tool..

ok after a bit more tests. The DT-DL TS files that wont play are the ones made from an MKV (mkvtoolnix) that has both layers in two different tracks( not merged into P7 ST, the early remux on rarbg )...
But if your source is an untouched bluray folders or a ST-DL P7 MKV made with makemkv or yusesope tool, it can be demuxed and remuxed into a working DT-DL TS.

EDIT:. if I remux the dual-track mkv to ISO first and then to DT-DL TS, it works.

Great, I remuxed the dtdl dovi test from mp4 to ts and this also plays now.

So far so good. I watched 5 DV movies (FEL P7 and MEL P8) already with the 5ghz wifi and not a single issue. FF/RW on the wifi is as fast as my x700 USB. My router is only 15 feet away from my player.

No dual-track green/purple screen and no long movie FF/RW bug is so great!!
No DD+ support (except atmos) is not a big problem, I just use my C8 internal plex app. Same for cropped content.
Also, I FF to the ending credit of Power Rangers just to make sure FEL stays in sync (Chromecast loses FEL sync when you FF) and no issue there, Bright white text without any ghosting.

I also like the fact that the x800m2 is pickier than the x700 about what works (or not) because I noticed that when a DV file is broken, the x700 will still play it in DV but the RPU doesn't work at all(fel still works tho).
The x800m2 will just refuse to play the broken DV file. I much prefer this behavior and I fear I may have watched fake DV on the x700 with some particular files.

Does anyone have an idea why I get different results in the DV enabled ST-DL video track when I follow these workflows:
Source: Ghostbusters Afterlife [MEL]

a)
- Use MakeMKV directly on the blu-ray
vs:
b)
- First mux the blu-ray to TS with TSMuxer
- Then mux the TS to blu-ray with TSMuxer
- Use MakeMKV on the blu-ray created by TSMuxer

for the same movie,
in the first case I have a 49.3mb/s 42.7gb video track
in the seco case I have a 48.0mb/s 41.6gb video track

I know workflow b) seems odd at first sight, but I wish I could store just the TS, and then get the (correct) MKV at any time when I need it.
Now instead I need to keep the blu-ray arround, convert to TS to watch on X800M2, and convert to MKV for other purposes.

I don't know about your question but in the case of a MEL movie like Ghostbusters , the best way is to convert profile 8 and your TS will work everywhere.
so p8 for mel and p7 for fel, that's what I do.

That's weird indeed. Maybe waste of space in MEL that tsMuxer would solve when muxing? I recently had a title with 1.6 GB MEL, of which RPU was 36MB. You can of course investigate by demuxing BL and EL from both mkvs and compare sizes.

Even better of course is what RESET_9999 suggested and convert to Profile 8.1 "BL+RPU". You'll have no EL at all.
