'Scsi error & 'OS error; Failed to save title

#1 Post by engrdan » Wed Feb 09, 2022 2:44 am

Trying to save the fourth episode on Disk 2 of "Band of Brothers" on Blu-ray and get the error info below. I'm using a USB 3.0 Slim Drive Power Supply: DC5V. I've burned over 5TB of other DVDs and Blu-rays on this drive without issue. and I successfully burned the first two episodes of "Band of Brothers" from disk 1 and the third episode on Disk 2 but for some reason it errors out on the fourth episode, Disk 2. Same results after 5 attempts. The USB 3.0 cable on the drive has a weird split USB C cable coming out of it (see attached image) but the USB C port and USB 3.0 ports on the front of my PC are too far apart to plug them both in. I've just been plugging in the USB 3.0 cable and leaving the USB C splitter unplugged. I've looked over the other forums and it looks like this may be a power delivery error or the drive went idle in Windows for some reason. Please let me know if you have any recommendations other than "buy a new disk drive". Thanks.

power delivery issue usually shows up as time out on logical unit on usb drives and you will hear the drive reboot.
those are read errors as it says try cleaning the disc and replacing the disc if that does not work you can try cleaning the lasers.

Thanks for the reply. I cleaned the disk and lenses and it still didn't work. Returned the Blu-ray set to Amazon for a replacement and the new replacement Disk 2 worked fine. Was just a bad disk.
