Transformers Movie (Animated) doesn't play properly

Hello,

Not directly to UHD discs or the MakeMKV software.

I used AnyDVD HD to decrypt this movie that I own and outputted it as an ISO.

When I mount the ISO, PowerDVD 21 loads to play the file, but all I get is a black screen. When I use MakMKV to convert the file to mkv, it plays absolutely fine.

Not sure what the problem could be. I've often noticed, the file will mount twice even though I selected it the once.

Anyone have any ideas?

maybe since official UHD support was removed it can no longer play UHD backups i know it worked in 19 and 20

PowerDVD 21 still supports UHD. I have 18TB of UHD/4K content or movies and they all play fine except this file.

It sometimes starts for a few seconds, you can see the usual disclaimer and then freezes. Only when I extract the video as a mkv does it play fine.

That sounds more like a powerdvd bug of some kind. Does the original disc play in powerdvd without anydvd running?

Yes, perfectly.

Try ripping it with MakeMKV backup functionality to a decrypted folder. Play it back from the folder and see what happens.
