MakeMKV 1.16.5 Issue opening discs

Since upgrading to 1.16.5 on MacOS 11.6 I get an error "This disc uses a newer version of ACCS+ encryption", even on discs I have opened on an earlier version 1.15.1, I downgraded back to 1.15.1 and can open discs again.

Any ideas why this would be?

What drive? Read about LibreDrive and AACS re:"host revocation".

Without a LibreDrive-capable drive, I guess this needs to be handled the old-fashioned way... submit the MKB dump & wait for a new MakeMKV version?

What I'm not getting is that it works in 1.15.1, but not in 1.16.5. Same discs, same drive, same Mac. Only difference is the MakeMKV version.

Same problem today with my LG HL-DT-ST BD-RE BH16NS40. Been a while since I have ripped. Had version 1.15.0. Saw the upgrade notice and upgraded to 1.16.5. Inserted a BR and got the same errors. Went back to 1.15.0 and everything is fine again.

May I add to my previous submitted post that this error was with Windows 10 and my LG BR drive vanished from the device manager after the errors and I was unable to reopen the drive bay to remove the BR disc. Had to reboot the PC to get the BR drive working again.
